Labneh Toast

A quick and athlete-friendly labneh toast made with crisp sourdough, creamy labneh, and warm roasted cherry tomatoes. This balanced, Mediterranean-inspired recipe delivers protein, healthy fats, and easy-to-digest carbs.

Ingredients

For roasted tomatoes
  • ½ tbsp extra-virgin olive oil or any oil
  • 35 g /4 cherry tomatoes, halved
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
For toast
  • 1 slice of sourdough bread
  • Butter , for toasting bread
  • 1 oregano-seasoned labneh ball
  • Roasted cherry tomatoes

Method
 

For roasted cherry tomatoes
  1. Heat olive oil in a pan.
  2. Add cherry tomatoes, salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Roast over medium heat until slightly softened.
  4. Switch off the flame and set aside for garnish.
For toast
  1. Toast the bread with butter until crisp and golden.
  2. Take one labneh ball from the jar and spread it evenly over the toast.
  3. Top with roasted cherry tomatoes and serve.

Notes

  • Sourdough works best for easy digestion, but any kind of bread can be used.
  • Roast the cherry tomatoes gently to retain their juiciness.
  • You can use the sliced tomatoes instead of cherry tomatoes.
  • Season the labneh balls with your favourite herbs and seasoning.
  • Serve immediately for the best texture and taste.
