Method
Sprouting the Moong dal
- First, rinse the moong dal to remove dirt or impurities.
- Soak the dal in a bowl with enough water to cover it. Soak for about 6-8 hours or overnight.
- After soaking, drain the water.
- Cover the bowl and keep it in a warm place for 1-2 days. Sprouts will start appearing in 12-14 hours. The longer you leave them, the longer the sprouts will grow.
Preparing the salad
- Add the sprouts, tomato and onion in a mixing bowl.
- Now, add salt to the sprouts.
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the salad for that zesty kick.
Notes
- If you like spicy, add red chilli powder or some chopped green chillies.
- You can also add veggies like cucumber to the salad.
- You can prepare the sprouts in advance and store in refrigerator. Just toss everything together when you are ready to eat.
